Alexander McQueen

I was shocked to learn early this morning that Alexander McQueen took his own life.

He was a phenomenal designer and was rocked by the suicide of his mentor and friend Isabella Blow 3 years ago and his mother last week. Those tragic events would sadden anyone!

Rest in peace and I hope you are in a happier place.

On the iNTeRWeBZ (geek talk for internet) I came across this beautiful creation by Alexander McQueen:

Natalia Vodianova in Alexander McQueen's Oyster Dress shot by Peter Lindbergh

I have not seen this gown until now and I have completely fallen in love with it! It is so dreamy. I want to get married in this dress--on a beach--in Thailand. Too bad it is not available. Would the spirit of McQueen get mad at me, a fashion grad student if I try to remake this dress? I don't think I could ever reproduce it.

According to the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Blog, it is from McQueen's Spring/Summer 2003 collection.

The Cut has a great display of McQueen's work over the years in a slideshow.

Bullet-Shaped Perfume

I gotta love The Cut at New York Magazine...they lead me to this article about edgy, bullet-shaped perfumes.

Me = big rose fan so I am curious to smell the Juliet Has a Gun collection. I am sure they are excellent since the creator is Romano Ricci, the great-grandson of Nina Ricci.

It would be very fun to carry a handful of these perfumes and scare snoops rummaging in my purse without permission looking for lipgloss or something like that. Expression of shock = priceless when they feel bullets and wonder if I am packing heat.

Back off my lipgloss bitch! Haha...

New Fashions for Sackboys and Sackgirls

Being a nerd at heart, I love all things involving virtual games (especially the PS3 and PC kind).

I just redeemed my code to get a free LittleBigPlanet DLC pack for "Norse Mythology!" I have not played my PS3 for months and this gives me an excuse to log in and change my sackgirl's costume.

I did redeem it online so I guess the idea is that I will be prompted to download it once I log into my PS3. Can't wait to go home and check it out!

Get your code here.

rag & bone

So after many years of wearing out my black Gap raincoat that I got as a Christmas gift from my parents back in high school, I decided it was time for an upgrade.
